5-day Training School on Antimicrobial Coatings at Amsterdam UMC at the University of Amsterdam, April 8-12, 2019
The COST action CA15114 “AMiCI” organize a 5-day Training School on “Antimicrobial Coatings”. The objective of this training school is to provide Early Stage Researchers with scientific background as well as practical expertise in testing antimicrobial coatings and surfaces, trained by renowned material and infectious disease scientists.
This training school is targeted to Early Stage Researchers (i.e. Master´s students, PhD students and post-doctoral fellows) from across Europe involved in Microbiology or Material Sciences. To promote further networking, the training school is combined with the European Training Network (ETN) PRINT-AID, focused on the development of
additively manufactured anti-infective materials.
Program
The post-academic course consists of an introduction day with networking activity, a 3-day practical course with supporting lectures, followed by a master class in Amsterdam. The experimental program at the Amsterdam UMC at the University of Amsterdam aims at antimicrobial activity testing (MIC/MBC, JIS, agar diffusion, biofilms etc.), antimicrobial resistance, and immune responses (histology, microscopy etc.).
Grants
This COST action CA15114 “AMiCI” will offer grants to Early Stage Researchers from European countries participating in the action. You can check whether your country is one of the members HERE
Of note, you can also participate in the training school if your institute in not partof AMiCI. The maximum total amount for the grant is EUR 1500 to (partly) cover your flight, accommodation, meals, and public transport costs. The grant can
